Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) programs in Madrid
Train at your level and find your way to enjoy Jiu Jitsu.
Círculo de Jiu Jitsu
At Círculo de Jiu Jitsu, we offer a variety of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs in Madrid, allowing each student to learn and progress according to their experience, age, and goals. You can start from scratch, train in full gi (BJJ), practice No-Gi/Grappling, seek competition-oriented training, or enroll your children in our kids' program. We work with small groups and provide personalized attention to support each student's progress in a friendly and motivating environment.
Jiu Jitsu for beginners
You don't need any prior experience with Jiu-Jitsu, other martial arts, or even sports to start training. We welcome new beginners every week and give them special attention during their first few classes to help them integrate into the group.
You don't need to get in shape before starting either. Your fitness will develop as part of the training itself. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is based precisely on learning to use technique, control, and movement against opponents of different sizes and abilities.
Our adult program starts at age 14. All you need to get started is a desire to learn.

What do I need for my first class?
If you don't already have a kimono, you don't need to buy one to try it on. You can come in comfortable sportswear. We also offer a kimono rental service at the school.
We recommend you bring:
- Comfortable sportswear if you don't have a kimono.
- Flip-flops for moving around outside the tatami.
- Towel if you want to shower afterwards.
- Rashguard or lycra to wear under the kimono.
Your first class is completely free and without obligation.
No Gi / Grappling in Madrid
No-gi is the style of Jiu-Jitsu practiced without a gi. Without the usual attire for grappling, the combat style changes, generally becoming a faster and more dynamic game.
At Círculo de Jiu Jitsu, we recommend combining BJJ with gi and no-gi, as both styles can contribute different elements to your development as a practitioner. Training in both will allow you to face different situations, rhythms, and ways of controlling your opponent.
However, combining both disciplines is not mandatory. If you prefer to train only No Gi or focus on Jiu Jitsu with a gi, you can do so. We adapt the training to each student's goals.

Jiu Jitsu Kids for boys and girls
Our Kids Jiu Jitsu program in Madrid is for boys and girls aged 3 to 12. From age 13, students move up to the youth category and begin training during adult hours.
Jiu-Jitsu can provide young children with tools to learn how to defend themselves against situations like bullying without encouraging the unnecessary use of violence. But the learning goes far beyond the techniques themselves.
During the classes we work on values that can accompany them outside the tatami as well:
Respect - Learn to respect teachers, classmates, and opponents.
Teamwork - Understanding that to improve we need to train and learn together with other people.
Discipline - Develop consistency and commitment through training.
Overcoming challenges - Learning to cope with difficulties and continuing to try.
Self-confidence - Feeling progressively more confident as you acquire new skills.
We want them to learn, stay active and, above all, enjoy training Jiu Jitsu in a safe and respectful environment.

Advanced Jiu Jitsu and competition
If you already have experience, our advanced program will allow you to continue refining your technique and developing your own game. All our adult and children's instructors are active competitors, so competition is a key part of our experience and approach to learning.
We believe that competition can be a powerful learning accelerator. It allows you to test your knowledge, discover areas for improvement, and face situations different from your usual training routine.
However, at Círculo de Jiu Jitsu, no one is obligated to compete. You can train for years simply because you enjoy the sport, want to continue learning, or want to stay active.
If you decide to compete, you will find categories differentiated by weight, age and belt, allowing you to test your knowledge against practitioners of a similar level and characteristics.
